Coach Krombeen had these comments on the match up against SVSU: “We went in shorthanded with four players sitting out due to injury and three others dealing with sickness. We only suited up 9 players for the game. Despite being short-handed, we held a 5-point lead in the 1st half (26-21) and went into halftime down 5 (48-43). In the second half, we were within 9 with 14 minutes left, but Saginaw went on a 10-0 run to put the game out of reach. Our guys battled to the end and showed a lot of heart and toughness in less-than-ideal circumstances. We shot 39% from the field and 24% from the three-point line for the game.”
The Tigers now enter a road stint to begin 2023. Next up for them is another exhibition against NCAA D2 Ferris State University on Wednesday Jan. 4th in Big Rapids, MI.
