Grace softball inks Lakeview HS standout Alyssa Hartley

Jun 30, 2022 | Softball

The Grace Christian University softball program is excited to announce the addition of Alyssa Hartley, a standout from Lakeview High School in Battle Creek, MI. Alyssa is the daughter of Abby and Trevor Harris, and a sister to Jameson, Madisyn, Paityn, Isabella, and Dylan.

Under Head Coach Brian Ratliff at Lakeview High, Alyssa was a three-year varsity player and was named Academic All-State in 2022 and All-Area and All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2021 for a district runner-up team. Aside from high school ball, Alyssa played for the Lakeshore Storm travel team. Her versatility will be a major asset for Head Coach Jeremy Clark and the new Grace program, as she has experience pitching and playing both infield and outfield.

“As Grace builds its softball program, we are thrilled to have such a versatile and skilled athlete as Alyssa join our team,” said Coach Clark. “She understands the nuances of the game and knows how to win while bringing with her years of both high school and travel ball experience.”

Alyssa spoke on what tilted the scales towards her deciding on Grace for her next steps:

“I loved the campus and how welcoming it felt, and everyone I spoke with was extremely nice. Athletically, Coach Clark has been extremely helpful and open minded, and seeing the athletics at Grace made me feel like it was a great fit for me.”

Alyssa will wear the #8 uniform for the Tigers and plans on studying exercise science.
