Tennis teams starting official action this week

Mar 15, 2022 | Women's Tennis

The Grace Christian University tennis teams are rearing to go for the Spring of 2022, with the women starting things off Wednesday at Calvin University. The men’s team will travel along with the women to start their season on Saturday at Alma College.

Coaches Jon Bushen and Brittany Kozakiewicz have been preparing with the teams since January at Premier Athletic and Tennis Club and both staff and players are excited to get things going.

The women are returning 5 of their top 6 players, and boast a total of 13 players on their roster which is the most in program history. The guys are returning Cam Staal, Jared Lowder, Bryce Hoeker, and adding Riley Mosterd. Both team MVP’s from 2021 return to the mix, as Jared Lowder had a school record of 2 wins at number 1 singles last year and Amiah Lake went undefeated in singles last season.

The men’s and women’s tennis teams have very challenging schedules this year, which is sure to produce a lot of improvement as the Spring goes on. Home games will be played at Grandville High School, and they have multiple local matches for the opportunity to come out and physically show support.

Please stay tuned to the Grace Tennis social media pages on Facebook and Twitter in addition to gracetigers.com for updates as the year goes on.
