Louisville, KY – The Grace Christian University women’s soccer team had a heartbreaking loss in the Regional semifinals Friday afternoon, falling 2-1 to Johnson University (TN) to cap off one of their most winningest seasons in program history.

After falling behind 2-0 in the first half, Alivia TerMeer trimmed the Tigers’ deficit to 2-1 after finishing on an assist from Elia Guillen Neri with 10 minutes remaining before halftime. The final 55 minutes of the game were filled with high intensity and effort, with the Tigers seeing multiple chances and totaling 14 shots compared to 15 from the Royals. The Royals held strong and didn’t allow the equalizer, earning a spot in the Regional Final game.

The Tigers finish their memorable season 12-7. All-Region first-team members Jennie Sue Pilieci, Aletheia Jones, Amiah Lake, and Alivia TerMeer will all be candidates for All-American honors when voting takes place a couple weeks from now.
