Wyoming, MI – Grace Christian University Baseball released their upcoming Fall Ball Schedule this week, giving a look at the first 9 games of their 2023-2024 campaign, including several scrimmages and exhibitions.
The Tigers will get their first taste of competition with a scrimmage against Aquinas College JV at Meijer Sports Complex on Wednesday, September 13th at 4pm.
The following week, Grace will host Alice Lloyd College (Ky.) on September 22nd and 23rd. The Tigers picked up a win last year in this series due to a game winning 2-run home run by Carter Willis.
On Saturday, October 7th, Grace will host Rochester University at LMCU Ballpark, home of the West Michigan Whitecaps. This will be the first meeting between the two programs.
The team will wrap up the fall season with a home stand versus Kentucky Christian University (KCU), another rematch from last fall where KCU swept the series.
“We hope to get off to a hot start this fall against Alice Lloyd, building off our successes last year,” says Coach Wolfe when asked for his projections on the fall. “The whole team is excited to play at LMCU Ballpark, and I’d expect the guys to turn up their play in front of a big crowd from Grace. KCU is a solid team to end with, so that series will give us a good evaluation of where we’re at heading into the offseason. I can’t wait to get started this fall.”
This fall will mark the beginning of year 3 for the newly established baseball program. The 2022-2023 campaign saw many firsts, including a win in extra innings against IUPUC, a 4-game road sweep of Maranatha Baptist University, and several new team records set. The Tigers will look to continue their forward momentum with their first team meeting and practice set to begin on August 28th.
