This week, Grace Athletic Director Cory Jamieson traveled to Greenville, SC for the NCCAA Convention. He came back with some pretty exciting news. Grace was named an NCCAA King Chasing Institution for the second consecutive year. Not only that, Grace was a Top 3 Finalist for the NCCAA #KingChasing Institution of the Year. For Cory and the entire Grace Athletics family, this one means a lot.

What is the NCCAA #KingChasing Program?

The King Chasing Program is built around the four values of the Game Plan 4 LIFE, Love, Integrity, Faith, and Excellence. The mission is simple but powerful: keep Christ at the center of the student-athlete experience. To earn the designation, an institution must earn 105 points across criteria that measures how well those values are actually being lived out. This isn’t a participation trophy. It takes intentional effort from coaches, athletic staff, and most importantly, student-athletes.

As a Top 3 Finalist, Grace will receive $5,000 toward a scholarship for a student-athlete pursuing ministry and $1,000 designated specifically for Christian outreach on campus. Thanks to the NCCAA and King Chasing sponsor Slingshot for making that investment possible.

According to Jamieson, “This is a direct reflection of our coaches and athletic administration who show up every day with the right priorities,” said Jamieson. “Our student-athletes are choosing to let their faith shape how they compete, how they lead, and how they treat people. That doesn’t happen by accident.”
