Monday would consist of 36 holes, as the players strategically battled some windy conditions. The Tigers’ Eric Zudweg would put himself in medal contention after shooting 78 and 79. The round of 78 is currently the lowest in the golf program’s short history. An 81 to cap things off on Tuesday for Zudweg would put him out of contention, but he would finish in the top half of a field filled with NAIA and NCAA competition. Freshman Devyn Pitts also performed well over the two days, capping things off with a career low 91 on Tuesday.
"Our guys are thoroughly enjoying themselves out on the course and with every competition they are improving," said Grace Head Coach Cory Jamieson. "We improved our team score by 5 strokes each round of 18 this week, and our target will be to keep lowering that mark next week."
The Tigers return to action at a course they’ve been practicing on for over a month – LE Kaufman Golf Course – next Wednesday at the Aquinas College Invitational.
