Pippas Passes, KY – The Grace Christian Softball team traveled down to Kentucky last week to take on the Alice Lloyd College Eagles. They played two games on Wednesday and two more on Thursday.
Game One
The Tigers struggled offensively Wednesday evening as they fell to the Eagles 0-9. Lexie Alexander and Tammy Perrotta each recorded one hit. Emma Balkema recorded 7 strikeouts.
Game Two
Showing improvement from their first scoreless game, the Tigers were able to score 3 runs. Kenzie Brothers and Perrotta each had an RBI, while Skylar Lowe, Carlee DeVries, and Renee Viles Gable each recorded a run. Grace lost 3-11.
Game Three
Thursday continued to show improvement as Lowe and DeVries each recorded a run. Balkema had another successful afternoon with 4 strikeouts. The final score was 2-13.
Game Four
The final game of the trip proved to be a challenge defensively, as the Tigers gave up 16 runs. However, Lowe and Balkema were able to lead the offense with one run each. Viles Gable and Alexander each recorded an RBI.
The softball team will be back in action over spring break as they travel back down to Kentucky to face Berea College on March 6th.
