Millions watch ABC’s “Shark Tank” each week. They’re drawn by the creativity, innovation and stories each aspiring entrepreneur brings with them – many including business failures and personal loss. These stories strike a chord with the panel of “shark” investors because they know what it feels like.
Like the investors – we have a similar opportunity – to look back at how the Lord has brought us from struggle into abundance, and bless those who are living where we once were. Hebrews 13:16 reminds, “Do not forget to do good and share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”
Did you know it’s easier than ever to bless the ministries you care about with your retirement assets? Because they’re often the most taxed portion of an Estate Plan, more people are financially blessing their heirs in other ways and investing retirement assets into the cause of Christ instead. But what about a gift you can give today?
As of December 2015, a permanent extension of the IRA Charitable Rollover has been signed into law. This allows individuals ages 70 1/2 and older to donate IRA assets to a qualified charitable organization Grace Christian University. This means:
- Individuals may make special gifts to charity without any federal tax liability
- Gifts are tax-free up to $100,000 per year and qualify for all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution
- It’s retroactive to January 1, 2015
We invite you to consider how your gift of retirement assets could help others move from brokenness to abundance in Christ.
