The Grace Christian women’s soccer program is excited to welcome another quality addition to the 2022 roster in Sky McElroy. Sky, a 5’2" midfielder for Dorr, MI, is the daughter of Angela and Ross McElroy and a sister to Cole.
Sky was a standout player for the Hudsonville Hornets homeschool team, earning 2021 Midwest All-Regional Team as well as the "Field Controller Award." She has been a starter for the past four seasons on the varsity team and served as a team captain as a senior. The Hornets placed First in the Midwest Gold Division Tournament twice while Sky was on the team, as well as finishing fourth in the Evansville Gold Division Championship twice.
“I am thrilled to add Sky to this year’s class," said Grace Head Coach Mike Riemersma. "She is a perfect fit for us as a player and person. She will add more ‘grit’ to the midfield we already have and gives us more depth at that position (which I believe is key). I love how hard she plays and her work ethic is second to none. I am looking forward to seeing how she improves and elevates her game throughout her career here.”
"I chose to go to grace because I loved how close I saw the team was," said Sky. "I knew going into it that I wanted to be able to find a team that could as close as my high school team was for me. I always wanted to play college soccer and Grace seemed like the perfect fit. I wanted to go here for my education because I heard so many good things about how helpful the teachers are and how they want to help you thrive and see you do good in their class."
