Madison had a standout career at Portland HS, and will cap off her fourth season on the varsity team this Spring as a senior. She received the defensive player of the year for her team and All-Conference and All-District honors throughout her first three years. Aside from the soccer field, Madison has been a trailblazer as the first female to score in Portland history on the football field, finishing with 52 points as a senior and had a perfect 36/36 year – becoming the first ever to do so in PHS history.
Madison spoke on her decision to attend Grace for her next steps.
"I chose Grace for my educational and athletic pursuit because it provides the right environment for me to thrive in," said Madison. "GCU’s Christ-focused programs and facilities allow me to put God first and use the resources provided by the school to accomplish what He desires me to do. Coach Riemersma has created an incredible environment where those who see Christ can thrive and demonstrate that on the soccer field. I am also very impressed with the educational opportunities for me to graduate with two degrees. God has directed me to this college and has allowed me to pursue my passions of sports and the study of Him here."
Madison, who will be pursuing a degree in Exercise Science, will be a very welcome addition to a Grace squad that finished last year as the #4 team in the NCCAA DII.
