Wyoming, MI – The Grace Softball team hosted Mid Michigan Community College for a double header on Saturday.

Game One

Game one remained scoreless until the bottom of the third. Hits by Renee Viles Gable and Lexie Alexander brought in two runs for the Tigers. However, the Lakers fired right back at the top of the fourth with 12 runs. The fifth inning would conclude the game with a final score of 2-12. For the Tigers, Alexander led the team with 1 hit, 1 stolen base, and 2 RBIs.

Game Two

Off to a slow start, the Tigers gave up 7 runs in the first four innings. Another 4 were given up at the top of the fifth. Grace’s lone run was scored by Kenzie Brothers on a hit by Viles Gable. Viles Gable ended Game Two with 1 single and 1 double, along with an RBI. Tammy Perrotta and Brothers each had one hit a piece. On the mound, Emma Balkema pitched a solid 5 innings, striking out 8. The final score was 1-11.

The Grace Tigers look to get a win at home tomorrow (April 16) against Cornerstone JV. Games are scheduled for 3 and 5pm at Kellogg Woods Park.
