Grand Rapids, MI – The Grace Christian University men’s soccer team recorded a statement win on a beautiful day at Velting Field Tuesday afternoon, defeating NCAA DIII Alma College 3-0. Junior Caden Petroelje started things off quickly with the 1st goal, and Keaton Edwards put the Tigers up 2-0 later on in the first half. The Tigers defense held strong, and Petroelje headed in another goal in the second half on an amazing pass from Ricardo Correa to end in the 3-0 result.
Sophomore goalkeeper Logan Werschem recorded 8 saves in the shutout. The Tigers have a busy end to their week, traveling to Lansing for a regional match-up with Great Lakes Christian on Friday and returning to Velting Field Saturday for a tough match-up against Indiana University Northwest at 1 pm.
