Oct 26, 2022 | Women's Soccer

Box Score Whiting, IN. – Your Grace Christian Women’s Soccer squad hit the road on Wednesday to play their last regular season match vs Calumet College of St. Joseph.

The Tigers would control much of the match and would bring the pressure heavy out of the gate. Creating many opportunities but no goal was scored. That is until the 20th minute when Alivia TerMeer would find Abby Schwab for the 1-0 Tiger lead. The score would remain locked at 1-0 into the half break with your Tigers outshooting the Crimson Wave 6-1 for shots on goal.

Entering the 2nd half, the Tigers would aim to put the game away and continue their dominant efforts. The wait would not be long as the second goal would come in in the 59th minute when Kylie Plichta would find Abby Schwab for yet another goal in the match. Making the match 2-0 Tigers. Grace Christian would continue to keep the pressure on and would record 3 shots on goal in the 2nd half to C.C.S.J.’s 0 shots. Final score would be 2-0 and the Tigers finish off the regular season with a victory on the road.

Coach Riemersma had these comments on the 2-0 victory:
“I was really happy with the way we played today. We moved the ball well, were physical and our communication was better. It was a good end to the regular season. I’m excited to see what these girls can do in the post-season”.

The Grace Christian Women’s Soccer squad now set their eyes on the NCCAA Mideast Regional Final. The location has been changed to Lowell,MI. Originally, the tournament was set to take place in Mt.
