Dr. Kizombo Kalumbula is an adjunct professor of psychology and counseling at Grace Christian University and Grand Rapids Theological Seminary.  Kizombo has been in private practice since 2004 providing counseling to individuals dealing with chemical dependency, trauma, depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders.

Dr. Kalumbula is the co-founder and co-pastor of Tabernacle Community Church of Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he oversees the shepherding aspect of the congregation and shares in the responsibility within the pastoral team of leading, teaching, preaching, and caring for the members. Kizombo is also the executive director of International Berean Ministries, Inc.  He directs the execution the mission of teaching and equipping the people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to meet their spiritual, physical, educational, and emotional needs.

Dr. Kalumbula’s research interest lies in exploring the experiences of compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction in helping professionals exposed to indirect trauma.  He enjoys volunteering with refugee resettlement agencies in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
