Nathan Grube

Coach Nathan Grube has been a member of GCU men’s soccer staff since 2011, and is now entering his 12th year with the program. During this time the GCU mens’ soccer team has won 4 regional championships and 5 National Tournament appearances, including a 2nd place finish in 2022.

Couch Grube is continuing a family legacy with GCU athletics, as his father Dave (2023 Hall Of Fame inductee) was the Grace
Men’s Soccer coach from 1989-1996 and served as Athletic Director from 1986-1996. Coach Grube has an extensive soccer background both as a player and coach. Nathan graduated from Hudsonville High School in 2001. While there he earned All-District, All-Regional and All-State Honors and set the single season scoring record his senior season. His college experience started here at GCU while he earned his Associate of Arts. During his two years playing he was twice Offensive MVP, was All-GBC Classic Team in 2001 and again with Coach Buchanan on the All-GBC Classic Team in 2002, All-Regional both years, All-American 2nd Team as a Freshman in 2001, All-American 1st Team as a Sophomore. He also holds GBC’s all time single-season scoring record with 30 goals. He then attended NAIA MSOC quarterfinalist University of Mobile where he took a red shirt year before heading to Cornerstone University where he was 2004 & 2005 Offensive MVP, 2004 All-Conference 2nd Team, 2005 All-Conference 1st Team, All-Regional 1st Team, and All-American Honorable Mention. He continued playing throughout the years with the United Soccer League professional side Charlotte Eagles and Great Lakes Wanderers of the PASL.

After playing, he has spent time coaching four years as Varsity Assistant Coach at Cornerstone and two years as JV coach. He spent four years coaching the Byron Center High School girls team, as well as 5 years with Tri-Unity High School where they won two district titles in that span. He has also coached numerous high-level and successful youth teams in his career. 

Grube holds a B.S. in Exercise Science from Cornerstone University and a Masters of Sport Science from the United States Sports Academy.
