Grace Christian University
Campus Safety
Located in the heart of Wyoming, MI, our campus is in a local neighborhood just outside the vibrant city of Grand Rapids. Grace Christian University is surrounded by beautiful woods along the back of our property and single-family home neighbors near the front of our campus. With minimal city streets to navigate once on campus, the vehicle traffic in and around our campus is very low, making for a quiet atmosphere.
We are thankful to be within about 90 seconds of proximity to our friends at the Wyoming Police Department by vehicle. Our city’s servicemen and women patrol our campus and the neighborhood frequently, oftentimes using our parking lots for their paperwork after a local traffic stop.
On campus, we have a trained safety team who look to ensure a space where students are safe and campus assets are protected. Current students may call the campus safety phone number on (616) 881-2803 to receive a ride on the safety cart to and from different buildings as needed. Campus safety team members are on patrol 20 out of every 24 hours per day. In the evening, parking lots and sidewalks are lit with bright lights and campus audits are completed frequently to ensure minimal spaces of darkness and shadows persist on our campus.
FROM THE PRESIDENT
Campus Safety Statement
Grace Christian University has and will continue to seek the best interest of our graduates and any student who attends our campus. Grace exists, per our mission, to graduate courageous ambassadors for Christ who make an eternal impact wherever they go.
Grace is annually recognized by niche.com as one of the safest campuses in the state of Michigan. (Presently it is listed first as Safest College Campus in Michigan). The University has strong protocols to screen any organization which requests to come onto campus and interact with our students. Grace is a community which always seeks to honor the Lord, and respect the authority of the Scripture for belief and conduct. Grace is guided by a thoroughly biblical Statement of Faith which is signed annually by all faculty, staff, and board members.
Grace Christian University has a firm position in which it will not engage in social media criticism or self-defense due to the potential resulting damage to all parties involved. It is our desire to intentionally preserve the testimony of other believers and avoid potential hurt or appear disparaging to others. Grace Christian University has thousands of proud graduates around the world, and their testimony of the institution’s focus on biblical fidelity and character formation into the likeness of Christ is clear and strong.
