Server and Network System Administrator

Job Title: Server & Network System Administrator

Reports to: Director of IT

Department: I.T.

Summary

The Server and Network System Administrator working closely with the IT Dir selects, maintains, supports and troubleshoots network infrastructure, servers and disk storage systems. Consults with the IT team on any issues and advises on efficiency controls and potential fixes. 

 

Essential Duties:

  • Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations to ensure a reliable and secure network.
  • Performing and documenting data backups and disaster recovery operations as scheduled according to policy to ensure successful data restoration. 
  • Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures. Replacing faulty equipment as necessary.
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other network hardware components when required.
  • Maintaining, configuring, and monitoring virus protection software and email applications.
  • Monitoring network and server performance to assure high availability.
  • Conferring with network users about solving existing system problems.
  • Coordinating computer network access and use.
  • Designing, configuring and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software.
  • Assess infrastructure on a regular basis to ensure it continues to meet necessary demands.
  • Develop new strategies and IT procedures to increase efficiency, enhance workflow and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with the IT team, remote employees, vendors and contractors to ensure system availability. 
  • Protect data from outside infiltration through encryption, secure data storage and other necessary means.
  • Assist with the installation of new hardware and software and train customers on its use.
  • Offer suggestions for possible upgrades and changes within the IT department.

  • Education/Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field preferred. Industry certifications and memberships a plus.
  • Expertise with network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, Firewalls, Switches, Access Points, Fiber and UTP Cable Infrastructure)
  • Expertise with network security 
  • Expertise with WIFI networks
  • Expertise with IP, VLAN, operational support and troubleshooting
  • Expertise with NAS/SAN disk storage systems

  • Computer Skills – Proven track record of maintaining IT structural integrity. Possess a working knowledge of computer applications. Have the ability to learn new technology quickly. Ability to create, read, and comprehend data on spreadsheets, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Customer Service Skills – Effective written and verbal communication skills required. Frequent interaction with faculty, students, parents, and agencies requires positive customer relations and ability to work with diverse populations. 
  • People Skills – A pleasant and helpful demeanor will assist in the favorable development and maintaining of relationships.  Sound decision making, problem solving, prioritization skills, and prompt follow up are key elements. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Comprehensive Skills – Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Records/Registration Specialist

Reports to: University Registrar

Department: Records/Registration

Status: Full time

Summary

The Records/Registration Specialist is a vital member of the Records/Registration Office team’s support of the academic division, faculty, staff, and students.  This position also enhances the Records/Registration team’s ability to manage student information and ensure the security of academic records.  This team member will be responsible for records and registration-related processes for both the Online/Graduate Online and the On Campus programs, and will act as a liaison between the Records/Registration Office and other student-serving offices at Grace.

Essential Duties:

The Records/Registration Specialist is part of a collaborative, multi-faceted team of individuals who share responsibility for Records/Registration Office functions in the following areas: 

  • Acting as liaisons between the Records/Registration Office, Enrollment, Online Student Success, Financial Aid, Business Office, etc.  
  • Assisting with the consistency of processes related to data entry and admission processing across divisions (On-Campus, Online, Graduate Online)
  • Creating/maintaining Education Plans for Online and Graduate Online students
  • Evaluating Online and Graduate transcripts for applicability toward Grace degree requirements
  • Participating in graduation-related preparation and the annual Commencement ceremony
  • Complying with the confidentiality standards of FERPA
  • Participating in professional development activities and serving on university committees that support the goals and objectives of the Records and Registration Office and the University, as required.

Advancement Data Entry Specialist

Reports to: Senior Gift Officer

Department: Advancement

Status: Part-time (minimum 15 hours per week/ maximum 20 hours per week)

Salary: $14.50/hour

Summary

The Data Entry Specialist is responsible for accurately processing and recording all incoming donations — including checks, credit cards, PayPal, ACH, and payroll contributions — in Salesforce. This role ensures donor records are up-to-date and well-documented for reconciliation and audit purposes. The specialist prepares fund allocation reports, coordinates with the Business Office on donation deposits, issues donor receipts in compliance with IRS regulations, and collaborates with the Advancement Office to track event donations accurately. Attention to detail, confidentiality, and strong organizational skills are essential to maintaining the integrity of donor data and supporting the organization’s fundraising efforts.

Essential Duties:

Head Coach - Cross Country

Position: Head Coach – Men’s & Women’s Cross Country 

Reports to: Athletic Director

Summary 

 

The Head Coach at Grace Christian University is responsible for all aspects of their respective program, with a  commitment to cultivate a team culture in which student-athletes can thrive. The Head Coach will lead the program in  alignment with the Grace Christian University mission to ‘Graduate courageous ambassadors for Christ who make an  eternal impact wherever they go’. 

Essential Duties:

 

  • Recruiting and retaining a full team of student-athletes 
  • Driving excellence in the area of Spiritual growth, competition, and academics within team 
  • Managing meet/invitational schedule  
  • Booking travel accommodations and coordinating team itineraries 
  • Keeping record of expenditures and staying on track with budgeted allowance for program 
  • Building and supervising assistant coaching staff and provide direction and oversight 
  • Practice planning and coordination of gym time/field usage with Athletic Director 
  • Providing Assistant AD/SID with information needed pertaining to respective sport 
  • Coordinating consistent devotions and service projects within team for Grace ROOTED program

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution 
  • Experience coaching at High School or Collegiate level

Part-Time Athletic Trainer

Position: Athletic Trainer

The Athletic Trainer at Grace Christian University is an essential role within the athletics department, with a commitment to provide services to our student-athletes that pertain to their health and well-being, focusing on injury prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. 

Essential Duties:

  • A.T. coverage at all home sporting events throughout the year 
  • Flexible scheduling for student-athlete treatment within 25 hour/week timeframe 
  • Responsible for inventory of medical and training supplies
  • Maintain a clean and functional athletic training room in the Aldrich Athletic Center 
  • Liaison for Athletic Insurance 
  • Build trusting relationships with student-athletes
