A New Student’s Guide to On-Campus Resources

Sep 2, 2025 | Blog

It’s 10 PM. You’re staring at a paper due tomorrow, and your thesis statement looks more like a question than an argument. Or maybe you’ve sat through three classes this week and still feel like everyone else got a handbook you somehow never received. The truth is, students who seem confident and prepared usually know how to tap into the on-campus resources around them. At Grace Christian University, those resources are designed to be personal and easy to use—and they’re all waiting for you to discover them.

Library Services

The library goes far beyond rows of books. You’ll find digital journals, eBooks, and plenty of tools created to help you succeed in your studies.

Tutoring Services

When assignments get tough, help is close by:

Two ways to get support:

  • Schedule ahead: Use the Nimbus app to book a session.

  • Walk-in anytime: Drop by between 5:30 PM and midnight, seven days a week.

Tutoring covers many subjects and skill levels, so you can always find the guidance you need.

The Writing Center

Writing doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. The Writing Center offers professional feedback through email:

How it works:

  • Submit your paper by email to a reviewer.

  • Within 24 hours of your appointment time, your paper comes back with detailed notes.

  • Reviews cover grammar, spelling, formatting, content, and flow.

Plan your schedule so you have enough time to make revisions before the deadline. You choose which suggestions to apply.

Academic Events

The library also hosts events that help keep you steady during the semester:

  • Mid-semester workshops to stay on track.

  • End-of-semester sessions to help you finish strong.

Student Success Center

Student-Success-Center

Every student at Grace is paired with a Student Success Coach who walks alongside you throughout your time here.

Your coach can help you with:

  • Staying on track academically.

  • Building strong connections with professors and campus resources.

  • Time management, motivation, and organization.

  • Navigating transitions with confidence.

  • Growing as a student, leader, and servant of Christ.

How to connect:

The Bottom Line

College life can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. The support available at Grace is already here for you, and taking advantage of it makes a real difference.

Professors won’t show up at your door with reminders, and no one can schedule sessions for you. But the students who thrive are often the ones who take the first step toward reaching out.

So download the Nimbus app, save the Student Success Center email, and keep in mind: every strong student started by asking for help at the right time.
