“Evangelizing across cultures”
Heather Langerak graduated from Grace Christian University in 2015 with a degree in Biblical studies. Her emphasis was in cross-cultural communications, with a specific concentration on the Muslim world.
Early on in life, Heather knew that she had a calling to minister to Muslims. Since she was 15, she’s been engaging with Muslims on the streets and through various media resources. She’s also been ministering to ex-Muslims online through prayer, worship, and the Word.
Heather said that her classes with Professor Sigmon were especially instrumental in preparing her for evangelizing effectively among various cultures.
When asked what stood out about her time at Grace, Heather said, “Grace offers many opportunities to foster Koinonia (community). As a studious loner, I found this semblance of Koinonia through ACT groups where I had the chance to discuss life issues through a Biblical lens with my fellow peers, and how those issues impact society at large.”
Heather currently resides in Jenison, MI, but hopes one day to be abroad. When asked about her future plans, Heather answered, “What it looks like, I am not entirely sure, but I know that God will bring the right people and the right opportunities along. Within this new season, as I wait patiently for open doors, I have also taken on multiple projects that are still in the works – one of those projects being that I am co-writing a book. And there may be potential in the near future to film a documentary also.”
