“Grace prepared me professionally as well as in my walk with the Lord…”

Michael Van Vels graduated from Grace Christian University in December of 2021 with a BA in Biblical Studies. He also earned his BS in Technology Project Management from Davenport University.

Michael recently married his wife, Grace, who he met during his senior year at Grace Christian University. Michael and Grace live in Wayland, MI.

Currently, Micahel is an IT Technology Support Service Lead at National Heritage Academies. After working in Grace Christian University’s IT department for two years, he started his current job at National Heritage Academies in August 2022, leading a team of 8 men at 6 high schools throughout the Grand Rapids and Detroit areas. In the next 5 years, Michael and Grace hope to go into the mission field, with Grace being a mechanic (or possibly pilot) and Michael working on church planting and in IT.

When asked which experiences were most memorable during his time at Grace, Michael mentioned his trip to Belize to see Dr. Matt DeYoung in November 2019. Additionally, he enjoyed a number of ACT groups at Grace and all the discussions that came from those groups. Michael also shared his thankfulness for how Grace prepared him both professionally and in his walk with the Lord.

Thank you, Michael, for sharing your story!
