At Grace Christian University, there is nothing that makes our work more fulfilling than seeing our graduates grow and flourish after leaving our campus. Knowing these students are ready to impact the world for Christ and inspire others to do the same is a feeling quite like any other. We know that it’s not just the students who currently attend that matter, but every student who has ever walked through our doors. That’s why we love to share stories of what graduates are doing in the community today, to inspire others to follow in their footsteps no matter their major. We asked some of our staff about which students had inspired them recently. Dr. Matt Deyoung, Professor of Business and MBA Program Champion, had this to say about a recent business management alumni, Nicholas Pilieci. Please join us as we explore his story.
An Inspiring Business Management Alumni
“One of the most satisfying parts of my job as faculty is helping a student find a career path that aligns with their gifts. I clearly remember a conversation I had with Nicholas Pilieci who graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Business. He was graduating soon and had to determine the right path. He had to choose between the security of a job after college or an entrepreneurial venture. Nick had been creating business plans and investing in his entrepreneurial talents since the beginning of the program.
As a professor, I believe that education is more powerful when it is individualized. One of the reasons I love teaching at Grace is because I get a chance to really get to know my students. I see the body of Christ when I look out into my classroom. I feel like it is my responsibility to get to know my students, learn their gifts, and point them to the most fulfilling career based on the talents and passions instilled in them by our Creator.
Watching Nick Pilieci go from an idea and his dream of PurePro Cleaning to a thriving business that serves hundreds of clients and provides a livelihood for several employees is one of the best experiences of my career. I believe that Nick’s business is his ministry, and that is the cornerstone of the Business Program at Grace Christian University. Helping students move toward their gifts is one of my favorite parts of my role as faculty.”
Nicholas and PurePro
Nicholas started PurePro Cleaning in 2019 after graduating from Grace with a degree in business management, though he has been in the window cleaning/pressure washing industry since 2017. It was during that time that he learned from the best companies in the industry all of the skills that make PurePro Cleaning what it is today. Nicholas prides himself on building a company that betters the lives of not just his employees but his customers too.
PurePro Cleaners offers a wide range of cleaning services such as:
- House Washing
- Window Cleaning
- Gutter Cleaning
- Roof Cleaning
- Surface Cleaning
- And even Christmas Light Installation
Nicholas and his team recently cleaned our windows at Grace Christian, and we can honestly say the difference in the quality of work and positive attitude of his team is palpable. PurePro truly goes above and beyond for its customers.
