Blog, On-Campus

Choosing a college can be an even more difficult choice than choosing a major. You have to weigh all the pros and cons and decide what college is the right fit for you personally. It seems like more and more colleges hide behind walls of text, confusing potential students with unnecessary, and sometimes exaggerated, information. We at Grace Christian University know how tedious it can be to sift through all of this information. That’s why we keep things as simple and honest as possible. This means admitting that Grace Christian University may not be the best fit for every student. That being said, if you are looking for an affordable, high-quality, Christ-centered education, as you pursue a degree in criminal justice, chances are that Grace is the right fit for you. So why choose Grace?

Criminal Justice Degree at Grace Christian University – Why Should You Consider Grace?

Cost

Grace Christian University prides itself on staying an affordable option to help ensure the financial bar for entry is as low as possible. We strive to provide a high-quality yet affordable education, only charging $745/credit hour for on-campus and $470/credit hour for online, which is nearly half the average price of other private universities in Michigan.

We also offer several ways to make enrollment even more accessible. By offering payment plans for students paying in cash and accepting Federal Financial Aid, we are able to help more and more students enroll every year.

Grace also offers a military discount for online students starting at $250/per credit hour. This discount applies not only to active military members but also to veterans, spouses, and dependents of 23 years or younger.

Biblical Foundation

At Grace, we believe that every class, major, and lesson should be founded in God’s Word. Every aspect of your college experience will be Bible-centered and ministry-focused. Our mission is to enable students to fulfill God’s purpose in their lives by providing education. This is reflected in our mission; “Graduating Godly Individuals Prepared to Serve Christ in Church and Society.”

High-quality Academics

It’s important to remember that while the social and relational aspects are fun, college is meant to provide something vital, an education. A quality education is the most important factor to consider when choosing a college. Without high-quality academics, what would the point of college even be? Thankfully, Grace Christian has an abundance of quality education. With staff members who are knowledgeable and passionate about their subject, our academics are in a league of their own. Our education is powerful, personal, and relevant to the needs of the 21st century while also reflecting the timeless truths of Scripture.

Flexible Schedule

Not every student is the same. The times they’ll be available for classes vary greatly from student to student. That’s why we aim to create a flexible schedule that’s built around your needs, not ours. Whether you require in-person or online undergraduate classes, we’ll work around your needs.

Professors With Hands-on Experience

Many of the Professors have first-hand experience in their fields, not just as teachers but as former thought leaders. For instance, recently our students had the opportunity to visit the State Police Department in Wayland, where their professor used to work. While the students were there, Dr. Greydanus gave them a tour and talked about his experience as an inspector.

Dr. Greydanus, a retired Inspector and former Wayland Post Commander, gave the students a tour of the police department. While there, the students were able to ask questions about the work, seeing as many of them are pursuing careers in law enforcement. During the visit, the students were able to reconnect with a former classmate of theirs, Trooper Reyes-Flores, who now works at the department.

Our Professors teach through the knowledge they have obtained firsthand. While learning from a textbook is fine, learning from someone with real-life experience is invaluable.
