God is on the Throne and hears the prayers of His people!  We just finished our Forty Days of Prayer Event last week. Friends and alumni as well as students and staff committed to praying for each individual involved in the ministry of Grace Christian University!  These prayers touched the Throne of Grace around the clock for 40 Days straight!

Our Board of Directors came together just after the end of our Forty Days of Prayer.  On Thursday evening, Dr. Rex Rogers led a session with the Board, and instructed us in best practices to lead an institution in the midst of these very challenging times. On Friday, we worked together as a Board, seeking to be the instrument of God as we direct and govern the affairs and policies of the University.  During our meetings, powerful testimonies were given by a new faculty member and two students.  The Board engaged in a season of prayer together, met in committees, and attended a special Homecoming Chapel with students, alumni and staff. Alumnus Keith Kemper (an attorney from Seattle) captured our attention with his anecdotes about his time at Grace, and he emphasized: “to live is Christ.” (Philippians 1:21).

Fellowship on Friday was focused around a barbeque, a concert by Draft Horses (Alumni Jonah and Briana Stacy), and Alumni reminiscing about their years at Milwaukee Bible College or Grace.

We celebrated those who graduated twenty, thirty, and even up to sixty years ago (Allan Wolf!).  Men’s soccer and women’s volleyball games rounded out the day. Saturday’s special events included a Disc Golf Tournament on our own disc golf course and a chili and chocolate cook-off.  More volleyball games and a women’s soccer game preceded Saturday’s Alumni games.  The “old guys” and gals played volleyball and basketball to cap off the weekend (hopefully by now they have recovered from their sore, aching muscles!).

The prayers of God’s people for His will to be done through the ministry and people of Grace Christian University are so important!  Thank you for participating in any way, and please continue to thank and praise God and petition the Throne of Grace for this ministry as we engage a young adult culture. The increasing need for clear Biblical teaching and truth during these perilous times is apparent.  Pray also for the protection of values and religious freedom as we approach an important midterm election here in the United States.

Thank you again for praying.  God bless you!
