Jul 17, 2023 | Blog

At Grace, our mission is to graduate courageous ambassadors for Christ who make an eternal impact wherever they go. We know there’s a lot to think about when you’re making important decisions about your college education. At Grace Christian University, we’ve made our online application process as simple as possible, so you can get on with your next steps in education, life, work, and ministry. Keep reading for a breakdown of what the online application process looks like, and what you’ll need to do.

Why Choose an Online Undergraduate Program?

Grace Christian University’s online degrees allow you to further your education flexibly from anywhere. With online college classes, you can make your degree fit around your schedule and lifestyle. Our online classes offer the same, high-quality level of education as our on-campus options, and include the required Bible and theology classes, too.

Not only do online degrees offer more flexibility, but they are also less costly than attending on campus. Additionally, another benefit of online programs is the smaller class size that they offer. Our online cohort groups average about 10-16 students each, allowing for maximum interaction with other students and support from faculty.

What Degrees Are Available?

There are a number of degrees available in our online undergraduate program. These include both associate degrees and bachelor degrees.

Online Associate of Arts Degrees

  • Business
  • General Studies
  • Leadership & Ministry
  • Social Science

Online Bachelor of Science Degrees

  • Business
  • Communication
  • Criminal Justice
  • Human Services
  • Leadership & Ministry
  • Psychology

We also offer four degrees in our online Master of Arts program.

There are just three to four straightforward steps you’ll need to take in order to complete the application process. They are: submit your application, send in your transcripts, complete your ministry reference (for Leadership & Ministry majors only), and apply for financial aid. Let’s walk through each of the steps so you know what to expect.

1) Submit your application

The undergraduate online application form is broken down into six main sections.

  1. Applicant information – including your name and address
  2. Personal information – such as gender, birthday, etc.
  3. Education – previous high school and college education
  4. Financial options – such as financial aid, veteran benefits, and employer tuition reimbursement
  5. Academic agreement – make sure you’re informed about the current academic year’s details
  6. Referral incentive program – spread the word and receive a $100 Amazon gift card!

2) Send in your transcripts

Next, if you’re planning to transfer previously earned credits, it’s time to send in your transcripts. Official transcripts are required from each university attended.

Although we can use unofficial transcripts for evaluation and acceptance purposes, we’ll need your official transcripts by the end of your first course.

You can request official transcripts be sent to the address below or by electronic transfer in parchment to onlineregistrar@gracechristian.edu or Grace Christian University, 1011 Aldon St. SW Grand Rapids, MI 49509.

3) Complete your ministry reference (required for Leadership & Ministry majors ONLY)

For Leadership & Ministry majors ONLY, you’ll need to submit a ministry reference form. This form can be completed online by an individual who can speak to your faith and character. It cannot be completed by an immediate family member.

4) Apply for financial aid
