Jaden’s Story: Becoming an Ambassador for Christ

Nov 13, 2024 | Blog

Hello. My name is Jaden Schoeneman, and I am in my senior year of the business program. I am from Hartland, Michigan, about two hours east of Grace. I was brought to Grace to play baseball, but I quickly learned that was not the reason. God’s plan for me was to end up at this amazing school and meet all the incredible people on campus. This community has lead me on a journey to truly live a life as a courageous ambassador for Christ.

Learning to Serve God

Since arriving at Grace, I’ve learned many things. But the most important has been learning to serve God and living my life through Him. Before Grace, I didn’t have much of a Christian background whatsoever, which made me nervous to come to Grace at first. As soon as I arrived on campus for the early fall of my freshman year, I knew that wasn’t the case. Everyone at Grace is special and the community that we have here at Grace is something that many places can’t say they have. The bond and close friendships that everyone has is amazing and I have never seen anything like it in my life before Grace.

Growing in Faith

My faith is something that I take very seriously now, I say that because I have come a long way in my faith since my freshman year of college.  Coming from a non-Christian background, faith wasn’t something that was a part of my life. The decision to come to Grace was the deciding factor in wanting me to pursue a life through Christ. Grace has certainly been a blessing for me in many ways but growing in my faith has been the greatest blessing. Our chapels, classes, and everyone on campus make it such a friendly environment for everyone which is something that made growing in my faith easy.

Serving the Community

Serving our Lord and community has been one of my favorite things since coming to Grace. I was presented many opportunities to serve the community in positive ways to help people in need, or even just needing extra hands to help. I love serving my community because hard work creates a strong trust and bond between you and the people serving next to you. One of my favorite things on campus that we do is campus service day, which is a day we serve the Lord helping out our local community. My favorite part of it is seeing everyone on campus helping out and seeing the change that we all can make by serving our community.

Preparing for the Future

The business program at Grace Christian University has been instrumental in helping me prepare for my future. Through the coursework and mentorship from dedicated professors, I’ve gained knowledge that extends beyond the classroom. This program has equipped me with the skills to think critically, lead ethically, and make wise decisions. I feel prepared to enter the business world with confidence, knowing that the education I received here has shaped me not only as a professional but as a person committed to serving Christ through my work.

Impact of Grace Christian University

Coming to Grace has been such a blessing and created such a great impact on my life. I have learned so much through everything Grace has to offer, especially in the classroom through amazing Professors. One of my favorite professors, Patrick McGillicuddy has taught me so much inside the classroom and outside. He goes above and beyond trying to help all of the students that he can so that they have the best experience at Grace. He has been one of my biggest inspirations and one of the people who have helped me grow in my faith significantly and I couldn’t be more thankful.

Grateful for the Grace Community

Grace Christian University has been a blessing for me after almost not going to school in general. Grace has shown me what it means to be a man of God and what true community looks like. It has also empowered me to be a courageous ambassador for Christ, ready to live out my faith and make an impact. Beyond grateful for Grace and everyone here, I know this experience is unmatched. I highly recommend reaching out if you’re looking for something like this.
