Dr. Mark Carroll is Professor of Youth Ministry in the School of Biblical Studies Degree Program at Grace Christian University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Previous to coming to Grace Christian University in 2007, he was in full-time youth ministry as a youth pastor in the Wesleyan Church for 29 years. For Dr. Mark, it’s been such a natural progression to come to Grace, to teach in higher education, and to have a hand in shaping students’ lives.

In addition to youth ministry, he enjoys reading, music, tennis, and has earned a black belt in Taekwondo. He and his wife of Julie (married 1981), have three children, Ashley, Joshua, and Megan and 2 grandchildren Ezra Stephen Wood and Micah John Wood.

How will a Youth Ministry graduate stand out? Dr. Mark says: “They will be well prepared in theory, but also be solid in practical experience. They will demonstrate true servant leadership – not go just for salary or prestige, but find the place where God has called them. They will understand the culture in which they minister and be highly relational. And they will passionately, fervently communicate God’s truth.”
