B.Th., Pastoral Ministry, Grace Bible College
M.A., Ministry, Moody Bible Institute
Ph.D., Christian Higher Education Leadership, Columbia International University
Paul has served at Grace Christian University in a variety of positions since 2003. Before joining the University, he ministered at churches in Michigan, Alabama, and Indiana. All of these ministries have prepared Paul well for his current role as champion for the University’s M.A. in Ministry degree program. Paul is passionate about pastoral ministry, not as a vocation but as a divine calling. His heart is for the smaller church because he believes it is there that lifelong relationships can best flourish. Paul is a diligent student of the Bible, especially since he knows that it is the Word of God that does the work of God in the lives of people. When asked what biblical passages are his favorites, Paul laughs and says that it is whatever he is reading at the time. Nonetheless, he has adopted Philippians 3:7-14 as his life passage, especially when it says, “That I may know him (Christ)” … intimately and powerfully. His advice to younger pastors is to first fall in love with Christ and then to be People of the Book, that is, to allow the Word to do its work first in their own hearts before ever stepping into the pulpit. That is when real and lasting transformation takes place and God is truly glorified.
Paul is married to his childhood sweetheart Kathy. They live in Hudsonville and are actively involved in ministry at Rush Creek Bible Church. Paul and Kathy have one daughter who has blessed them with five grandchildren. They have been truly blessed and thank the Lord for His goodness evident in their lives. He looks forward to working with anyone who has a heart and desire to learn more ministry and the opportunities it affords. If that is you, feel free to contact him to learn more about our graduate degree in ministry.
