In recent years, Grace has been making a push for equal representation in all of our majors. In some majors, there has historically been a relatively large disparity in the amount of male and female graduates. One of the majors where there seems to be an especially large difference is in our MBA program. That’s why Grace is dedicating ourselves to empowering women in business. Grace not only wants to bring more women into the MBA program but also to better prepare those in the program for the workforce. Keep reading to see how Grace is making efforts to have more female representation in our MBA program and sharing the success stories of our female graduates.
Empowering Women in Business
Despite nearly half of all students at Grace being female, there are very few women in our MBA program. While there is no one clear answer as to why this disparity exists within the MBA program, we at Grace are striving to create an environment where women feel not only encouraged to pursue a career in business but also empowered to make a difference in the world. -Grace has always made concentrated efforts to make education as easy and accessible as possible for students from all walks of life. No matter a student’s age, gender, race, or background, they are welcome at Grace where we offer equal opportunities across the board.
Accessibility and Flexible Scheduling
Recently, Grace has restructured our MBA program to provide opportunities to women who are pursuing a career in business and breaking down traditional gender barriers. One way we do this is by providing flexible scheduling for those who cannot attend in-person classes during regular hours. An important difference this makes is that women who are unable to attend class during the day due to other responsibilities now have the option to pursue a degree to start or further their careers. Tamika Thompson’s Story
Tamika is a student at Grace planning to graduate in the Spring of 2024, with a degree in human services. As a mother of three, a student, and an operator of a small Christian business, Tamika certainly has her hands full and needed another option rather than a traditional, on-campus degree. When asked about how the flexibility of Grace Christian’s online program has benefited her, Tamika had this to say, “As a busy mom who wears many hats and manages a physical health condition, online education has been a tremendous gift. There is access to class materials day or night. Grace Christian University has enabled me to learn and work toward completing a degree program without the added stress of commuting to campus or sitting inside of a classroom at a designated time. Instead, I can support my children academically, and financially, and continue to recover from long-term medical issues.” We at Grace pride ourselves on being able to share the success stories that our female students have been able to achieve through their own hard work and dedication. While Tamika decided to pursue a degree in human services, this flexibility and dedication to accessibility is present throughout all the programs Grace has to offer, especially our MBA program.
