Equipping Students To Make A Difference at Grace Christian University

Feb 9, 2024 | Blog

Going to college is often seen as a means of pursuing a future career. While this is definitely true, it would be a mistake to think that is the only reason to attend university. At Grace Christian University, we know that attending college is about much more than pursuing a degree. It’s also about equipping students to make a difference in the world. And it’s about transforming students into ambassadors for Christ. Focusing on your education is vital, but it’s just as important, if not more so, to fulfill God’s calling for your life through your education, and become a light unto the world.

Equipping Students To Make a Difference

Grace’s priority has always been more than just equipping students with the knowledge necessary to succeed in their chosen field. In addition, we also pride ourselves on enabling students to become a beacon in the world to point others to Christ. This sentiment is reflected in our mission statement, Graduating Courageous Ambassadors for Christ Who Make an Eternal Impact Wherever They Go. We look to fulfill this statement through every class we teach and every student who walks through our doors. Read below to see how Grace is creating courageous ambassadors for Christ.

Student Ministries at Grace

Grace has created an environment on campus that prioritizes the spiritual health of our students. Grace offers a variety of different opportunities to engage in student ministries. Students are able to attend chapel and Bible studies, and even become members of the worship team.

Grace’s Values

Next, Grace’s core values permeate every aspect of campus and student life as they are instilled in our students in hopes of creating ambassadors for Christ.

These values are

  • Bible Centered
  • Grace Theology
  • Ministry Focused
  • Transformational Relationships

With these values as the cornerstone of student life, Grace is equipping students to become ambassadors for Christ. It is our hope that by the time a student graduates from Grace, these principles will have made a difference in their lives, and that they will go forward to spread these values to all they encounter.

Christ-Centered Community

Community is a central part of life at Grace. Students are encouraged to form authentic relationships with their fellow students as well as their professors. At Grace, we believe that a strong, redemptive community instilled with Biblical principles plays a pivotal role in preparing students to reflect Christ throughout the world.

Proverbs 27:17 says “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another”. We have taken this verse to heart and created an academic environment that prioritizes community as a means of helping our students grow spiritually and academically.

These relationships are built on a shared love for Christ and others and last a lifetime. Grace offers a community to provide students with a sense of belonging and purpose in a world that can, at times, be lonely.
