Summertime

group of photos of students on vacationIn the midst of summer, many of us will travel. Whether it’s a trip to local parks, the lake, or a trek across the country to visit family and friends, everyone enjoys a time of great refreshment and relaxation.

For our students, it is also a valuable time. We praise God for the many students who take summer vacation time to serve in various ministries around the US and around the world. It is a blessing to see students and staff members give of their time and talents to impact our world for Christ.  Some of you in the Pacific Northwest enjoyed the ministry of our pastoral student team in May.   Another group of students and staff led a worship seminar in Tanzania, Africa with missionary Brook Seekins.

Others are stepping out one by one to make a difference:

  • Nathan is leading worship at a Navajo Native American Reservation in New Mexico
  • Chris is in Ireland and Germany with a church planting ministry
  • Andrew and Brad went to Grenoble, France to serve the Muslim community
  • Nick is serving at the “Never The Same” camp ministry all summer

In each of these places, Grace Christian University has been represented well, and even more importantly, the gospel of Jesus Christ has been shared.

The summer months bring visible changes here on the Grace campus as well.  In addition to preparing the campus for the return of traditional students in a few months, we are able to host other groups – such as Child Evangelism Fellowship and the GMI Exite teams – and are grateful we can be a blessing to others through our campus.

Would you please pray for our students, and for our summer ministries?  We also ask for your prayer and financial support as we seek to end our fiscal year on June 30th with a strong finish.  We know God has blessed us, and ask you to prayerfully consider what your part will be to help us finish strong!

I have responded this way many times when what I expressed didn’t come out right, or there were additional consequences to my words or actions which I had never considered. We’ve all done it. Have you ever read a “spoken text” from a friend who was sent without...

How Progress is Made

Winter is holding on here in West Michigan!  The ground remains solidly frozen.  Daily, I hear from people who are anxious for warmer weather and jealous of those who are looking at palm trees or cactus.  But when it comes to the calendar - and often the...
