Deepen Your Ministry Impact at Grace Christian University

Jan 12, 2024 | Blog

Looking to deepen your ministry impact, but not sure where to start? For those who know that they want to be in the world of ministry but aren’t sure what that looks like exactly, it can be hard to know what degree you need. This is made even more confusing when you realize how broad of a term ministry can be and all the different facets it contains! A career in ministry is possible with a bachelor’s degree, but most institutions do prefer candidates with a master’s degree or higher. Check out how a Master of Arts in Ministry at Grace can deepen your ministry experience.

Why Get a Master of Arts in Ministry?

As previously mentioned, while it is possible to get a job in ministry with only a bachelor’s degree, most institutions do prefer candidates with a graduate degree. Having a master’s degree will open up a much wider range of career opportunities. It will also allow you to have a deeper understanding of the subject matter, further preparing you for a career in ministry.

Furthermore, Grace’s master’s program equips students to minister in today’s culture. Students learn to engage with the Gospel in a way that helps them lead relevant and effective church and non-profit ministries.  The courses include a variety of Bible, theology, and ministry leadership classes, so graduates can feel confident in a well-rounded degree program that can be tailored to their own specific ministry context.

The program is designed to equip students with the theological knowledge and practical skills needed to impact ministry. It accomplishes this by focusing on Biblical truth and community to enhance one’s effectiveness in serving others.

What do I Need To Do To Deepen My Ministry Impact?

Admission Requirements

To apply for graduate school at Grace, here’s what you’ll need to do:

  1. Fill out an application
  2. Complete the current year’s FAFSA
  3. Let us know if you are/have been in the military or are a military spouse (we offer military discounts!)
  4. Let us know if you’re a Grace Christian University alumni
  5. Send us your undergraduate transcript

How Long Does it Take?

A bachelor’s degree is required in order to enter the master’s program. This means that you will most likely need four years of schooling before you can begin to get your master’s degree.

However, once a student has received a four-year degree, the master’s program can be completed in a relatively short time period. It only takes 36 credit hours to complete your master’s. This usually takes 20 months assuming students are attending full-time.

How Much Does it Cost?

A Master of Arts in Ministry at Grace is surprisingly affordable. Many students dread going back to school because of the high cost, but Grace keeps things affordable and accessible. At Grace, the master’s program only costs $480/credit hour, nearly $200 less than the national average.

Further discounts are available for military personnel, whether actively serving or a veteran. This discount also applies to spouses and dependents under the age of 23.
